What does it all mean?

Sometimes I say something on popular social networking site Twitter that other people find interesting or funny or both. They show that they feel this way by responding with certain actions. This always makes me happy but until now I've just gone along and taken it without ever really asking the important question:

What the hell does it all mean?

Well I think I have an answer now and it isn't that everyone who interacts with me on social media finds me incredibly attractive, which is a pity. It's more complex than I ever before imagined!

- Retweet

When someone retweets something I have said it means they find it interesting/ funny/ entertaining and would like to share it with other people. It also suggests they are not ashamed about knowing me. This is nice.

- Reply

A reply means that they someone has found what I have said interesting/ funny/ entertaining or horrible/ appalling/ a load of bullshit. They want to tell me how they feel about what I have said without necessarily admitting to everyone else that this is the case. Sometimes a reply comes hand in hand with a retweet and that means they think I'm amazing.

- Quote

You can't quote from the Twitter site but you can from all the sites that support it. WEIRD. Anyway, a quote means that someone has found what I have said interesting/ funny/ entertaining/ horrible/ appalling/ a load of bs and wants to show all of their followers that this is how they feel. However they don't think that my tweet on its own is good enough and feel an urge to add some of their own opinion onto it. It's a bit vain if you ask me, all of my tweets are fine as they are.

- Favourite

A favourite is someones way of saying 'Yeah, I like the way you think,' but unfortunately they're incredibly embarrassed about liking the way I think and thus have to hide it away from everybody else. It's like giving you a high five under the table. It makes me smile and cry in sync every single time it happens.

- A tweet completely separate to but talking about a tweet you yourself have made.

This is a tweet from a prick.

- Theft

Theft is when someone sees what I have said, enjoys it, but feels that it is perfectly acceptable to go ahead and take the content without asking or giving me any credit for it at all. One day they'll die and I'll laugh HAHAHAHA just like that.

You can perform all of these actions by following me @Ash_Billinghay
You probably already do because how else would you be reading this? Magic? SEO?

There. I hope you've all learnt something. We can all get on with our lives now.
