It took ages for lunch,
I was so glad to eat,
that I barely even looked,
as I sat on my seat,
on a bench by a church,
with the sun shining high,
most unaware,
of the suits passing by,
of the men with their ties,
and the women in dress,
of the kids and the adults,
in blatant distress,
I just sat and I munched,
while all around sobbed,
a little upset,
at the one that they'd lost,
cos it turned out that bench,
wasn't just for my food,
it was also the venue,
for a dark sombre mood,
alas, I fear,
my senses were dull,
to the fact that I ate,
at a funeral.
