The Dangers of Waking Up

When I'm dreaming I can dream too much,
When I'm awake I may never dream again.

When I'm dreaming I could dream too long,
When I'm awake then the light might never end.

In my dreams I can fly and I can fight,
In my life I just sit back and smile.

In my dreams I can change things, make things right,
In my life I just hope the dreams are all worthwhile.

While I dream I am the hero,
While I live I am the clown.

While I dream I am the king,
While I live my feet stay firmly on the ground.

As I dream my life is resting,
As I live it must go on.

As I dream my troubles do not trouble me,
As I live they trouble me all along.

When I'm dreaming I can dream too much,
When I live I prey that life is really the dream.
