Today I had a thought,
This was not unlike other days, as I have thoughts often,
But this thought was specific to what I am doing now,
That is writing.
Alas, poetry is not a thing you should think about,
It is something you should do.
Like breathing, or being, or beating or living,
It should just happen. It should just exist.
Yet here I am thinking about it,
Thinking about how I intend to do it,
Even while I am doing it already,
And it is those thoughts that make the process harder.
I regret the thought I had today,
I regret the end result,
But I am grateful for the opportunity to make it better next
time,
By having no thoughts at all.
