Other situations in which the sacking of David Holdsworth would be ridiculous.

Today Lincoln City manager David Holdsworth was relieved of his duties because he failed to achieve miracles with a mediocre squad and absolutely no money. This strikes me as silly. To highlight how silly this is here are some other jobs he might be sacked from after enduring similar problems.

Bye Dave.

A fish and chip shop.
David Holdsworth works in a fish and chip shop. However the owners of the fish and chip shop cannot afford real fish so he has to serve picture of fish he has created on Microsoft Paint. He is sacked because customers don't enjoy the taste of the food and he is apparently 'stingy with the scrumps.'

A supermarket.
David Holdsworth works in a supermarket. He is tasked with stacking the shelves but unfortunately the shelves are made of paper. He is sacked because things keep falling off.

A golf resort.
David Holdsworth works at a golf resort. Alas the resort never got round to being completed due to a lack of funding so poor David is sacked as there are no holes to aim for.

A garage.
David Holdsworth works at a garage. The garage employs lots of other workers but none of them have any experience of fixing cars so keep doing it wrong. David is sacked because only a handful of cars ever get back on the road.

NASA.
David Holdsworth works for NASA. The space station are trying to keep costs down so he is the only human working there alongside a team of monkeys. Astronauts keeps dying because, weirdly, monkeys cannot build rockets. David is blamed and sacked.

A football club.
David Holdsworth works for a football club. They are in the conference and have no money. He is told to secure a safe mid-table position. He is sacked because some of the fans are completely mental and expected him to perform miracles with nothing, something which he could not manage because he is not magic.

Hopefully those painstakingly obvious metaphors will sink in and you'll realise just how daft it is that anyone ever thought he could achieve anything better.
